About Uptown Oracle
Immediately after A Levels I moved up to my Dad’s home in order to prepare my life before Uni started. As the summer dragged on and I didn’t have any friends up there, I made the first step into starting a blog called Uptown Oracle. Of course, once my course started, I got a job and made friends and UO fell of my to-do list.
Around halfway through my first year I took on a digital marketing internship to supplement my marketing degree. As I was working with bloggers, but also learning so many new things, something just clicked in my brain. Blogging is so good at teaching you lots of different skills – and many of these match what I needed for a marketing job. So UO was revived, with me pushing my content so much more because I was teaching myself marketing skills at the same time.
Now I’m graduated with my dream job, I’m still blogging. Despite a ever-changing frequency of content over the years, I’ve finally found the perfect amount I can put in whilst ensuring I’m getting my work done, socialising, and of course having a healthy life. This allows me to write what I want to write about, and work with companies I love.
It’s also not just all about UO anymore. Being a British Book Blogger and Beauty Blogger means I’ve found a community that supports me but also creates amazing opportunities. Because of this, I’ve created The Blogger Group in order to give back to the community. The Blogger Group is UO’s personal project to increase the community feel across niche’s but also to help new bloggers grow and improve themselves.
Looking to the future, I can’t wait to continue working within these communities and the brands who’ve reached out to me. Being creative on my space on the internet is something that brings me joy, and the opportunities and skills it has given me is unbelievable. This is where I can talk all about the things I love, and I hope to continue connnecting with like-minded people.
