Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz Review | Finding The Perfect Brow Is Only a A Few Pencil Strokes Away

It’s strange to think about how many years I’ve been filling in my eyebrows, but for many years I was using blonde or brown pencils. That was until Anastasia Beverly Hills came into the picture with their products in the shade Auburn. I’ve tried using their dip brow pomade (which I loved!) but I’m lazy with my makeup and pencils are usually much quick to use. So that’s when I picked up Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz.

First Thoughts

I’m normally using brow products to fill in and define by eyebrows because my natural hair is quite light. So using a pencil is normally pretty quick for me as they’re often easy to use, and they’re not too harsh.

ABH’s Brow Wiz uses the exact same shade of the dip brow pomade, but because it’s a pencil and not a gel it allows it to be quicker to apply. This quickness is mainly down to how I blend out my eyebrow products though. I often use the spoolie to blend the harsh lines out a bit, where I’m aiming for a natural but darker look to frame my eyes. If you’re going for the old “Instagram” brow though, a gel may be better suited and will probably last longer in a defined line.

The Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz is an ultraslim brow pencil, which gives you much more control. I both liked and didn’t like this. I liked it because it helped me define by eyebrows much easier, and I felt like I made less mistakes over the weeks I was using it. I didn’t like it as it took longer to fill in the brow. I’ve used the ABH Brow Definer before, which has a diamond tip – and this was much faster to actually use.

Despite taking longer than the Brow Definer, it took less time than gel brows and in general it’s just super easy and intuitive to use. You just grab the pencil, define your brows, spoolie and done. Perfect for my every day makeup and it being in the Auburn shade just makes it 10 times better.

After Use

Ignoring my lockdown eyebrows which really need a good waxing – This is what my brows look like when using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz. I think my brows look pretty natural whilst still framing my eyes and face well.

You can pretty much see where I’ve drawn in the eyebrow, but what I love is that you can still tell it’s real eyebrow hair. Plus, it helps match it to my hair colour a bit more than a blonde or brown shade.

My brows also stay put all day when using Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz which is amazing. I find that I do touch my face (and brows) throughout the day as a nervous habit, but my brows always end up lookin the same once I get home from work. But the good thing about a pencil is that you can re-apply if needed too, or re-define for a darker or more sculpted night look.

Would I Re-Purchase ABH Brow Wiz?

I would defintely rebuy the Brow Wiz, maybe interchangeably with the Brow Definer as I do love that product too. My main focus is that Auburn colour is a god send. I love not having brown eyebrows like all the other products I’ve found and this is what makes Anastasia Beverly Hills stand out to me.

  • This is the first not-black eye product I have seen, and I love the auburn color! Pencils have always been a struggle with me, but this makes it look really easy. :)

    • Me too!! I've been using this for a while now and love that it's not as harsh as black for my skintone ❤️
