Cult Beauty Haul | Makeup and Skincare Haul 2019

So recently I decided to do a little bit of shopping for a few more skincare items and I’d been eyeing up some of The Ordinary products for a while. So I took a trip over to Cult Beauty to seee what was on offer. I bought a set of three from The Ordinary. Number one is the Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion, number two is ‘Buffet’, a serum and three is 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil.

Alongside this I was also side-tracked by Stila as I needed to replace my old eyeliner, which I absolutely adore from them. Plus I picked up their One Step primer which comes in this amazing looking bottle that always catches my eyes when I’m in Boots. Honestly I think I need to try out more of Stila’s products… I’ve been eyeing up some of their highlighters too… but I digress.

The last purchase on the list was a obvious must need (Sarcasm implied). Another eyeshadow palette was bought on an impulse when I saw Huda Beauty’s selection on Cult Beauty. I know, I know, I need to stop buying eyeshadow palettes when I rarely wear the colourful eyeshadows I already own. But these coral shades were too good to pass up.

The Ordinary

First things first, let’s talk about The Ordinary. The Ordinary is a company with extremely affordable products, that have had rave reviews with how well they work. As you can see, they also have very minimalistic and aestehtically pleasing packaging.

Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion

From the research I did, a Granactive Retinoid is supposed to produce little to no irritation with use, perfect for my fairly sensitive skin. Retinoids are said to be good for skin as a derivative of Vitamin A. They often assist with brigthening skin, reducing acne, and as it increase cell turnover it helps with discolouration.

“Buffet” Serum

This serum has an extremely wide-array of ingredients, all of which are supposed to work together to make your skin look fantastic. I’m more intrigued by this than anything else because I already use serums, and I want to find out more.

100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil

As I often get eczema patches and dry skin on my face, adding an oil to my routine sounds like a good plan to keep hydrated. Rose Hip Seed Oil is supposed to be packed full of vitamins, antioxidants and essential fatty acids. These could all help make my skin look wonderfully bright and hydrated.

Stila Cosmetics

Whilst browsing, I found that Cult Beaty sell Stila Cosmetics which was fortunate as I had ran out of my favourite eyeliner from them. So… I ended up buying the eyeliner and also the primer which I’ve seen so many times when wandering around Boots.

One Step Correct Primer

Honestly I think I was drawn to this primer because of the (slighlty) gimmickly spiralled product in the tube. Obviously it looks very aestehtically pleasing… which gets me in trouble a lot. However I have already tried it and it’s not been too bad so far. I’ll probably test it out a bit more, and I’ll see how it holds up during heat and sweating before I write a full review though.

Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner

The love of my life is this liquid eyeliner. I am honestly so surprised I haven’t discussed it before. However it is a super easy felt liner, which isn’t too thick like some can be. This means I can have thin or thick eyeliner at the stroke of a pen! Plus whent they say waterproof – they mean waterproof. This eyeliner stays on so easily, (and please don’t judge it’s not a common occurance), but I have slept whilst wearing it and awoken with a perfect wing still.

Huda Beauty Coral Obsessions Palette

I, of course, just needed a brand new eyeshadow palette which some gorgeous coral shades for summer. Honestly I’m not quite sure what made me feel so impulsive with this £25 tiny 9 shade palette, especially when I have so many barely used palettes in my cupboard. I should probably start creating looks for blog posts again!

But anyway, these 9 shades are stunning. I’ve already has a play about with them and they are highly pigmented, and all of them bar maybe the yellow suit my skintone. My personal favourites are the more neutral matte corals, although I have been known to use a glitter shade for nights out.

    • So do I usually! But these are really easy ones to start including in everyday looks I think! x

  • YAY Skincare - I’ve really been slacking on my skincare routine - my nighttime routine especially! I don’t think I’ve heard that much of The Ordinary before - I’ve heard about them in passing on Instagram but that’s amazing to see that they are affordable! The Buffet Serum sounds absolutely perfect!

If the primer holds up in the heat/sweat it’s a winner! So many of my moisturizers make me so so sweaty on my runs so definitely think if a product is summer/sweat tested it’s basically a gift to humanity haha.

I love the colors in the eyeshadow pallette! All warm subtle colors - great for bases and also the glittery ones are great to really make a look pop!

    • I've been using The Ordinary products in my night routine mostly! They've been great so far (and will probably upload proper reviews soon!)
Will be testing the primer in this summer heat - fingers crossed it holds up haha

  • Even reading the title of this post got me excited. I hope you get on well with The Ordinary products, for some reason my skin never liked them. That Stila primer always catches my eye too, the bottle looks so pretty. Haha who DOESN'T need another palette? x
