Five Fridays: Favourite Childhood Books

Winnie the Pooh

I had so many Winnie the Pooh Books, and then the complete collection books too. My Dad bought me all the Disney books when they started being released too. Of course, I also loved the films as well. Anyone else fondly remember The Tigger Movie?

The Magic Faraway Tree

Every summer for years I would visit my aunt in Wales and every year I would read her copy of the Magic Faraway Tree. I eventually got my own copy in an anthology of other Enid Blyton books, but I always loved that original copy.

Harry Potter

I’m pretty sure most people my age would’ve read Harry Potter as a child. I remember my Mum reading the first two to me before bed, and then I was able to read the third one all by myself.

Famous Five

When I was old enough to start reading my Mum handed me down all her Famous Five books from when she was a child. Soon after I was pestering family members into book stores to get the next book and the next book.

The Chronicles of Narnia

For as long as I can remember I’ve a box set of the Chronicles of Narnia on my bookshelf. I’m not sure who bought me it and I don’t really remember the first time I read it. But since I was young I’ve read them multiple times over and I never get bored of the world of Narnia.
