HUDA Beauty Coral Obsessions Palette

I realised that most of my eyeshadows were darker shades, and often in neutral colours and wanted to branch out. I had a small Smashbox palette which has rose gold tones, which I adored so wanted to find more with similar colours. The HUDA Beauty Coral Obsessions palette is the perfect palette for what I needed, and I’ve been wearing it so often (even just for Zoom calls!).

First Thoughts

I picked this palette because of the shades in it, most of my other palettes are more neutral or dark like Urban Decay Smokey. But with the Modern Renaissance palette, I loved the pinks and how it looked with my hair and so chose Coral Obsessions because of this. Starting from the top left corner, and going left to right, up to down here’s each of the shades:

Coral #1 – a medium coral with a golden-pink shimmer and a metallic finish.

Coral #2 – a vibrant pink with a matte finish.

Coral #3 – a more neutral orange-coral with a matte finish.

Coral #4 – a darker warm coral with a matte finish.

Coral #5 – a peach-pink coral with a matte finish.

Coral #6 – a soft orange coral, opaque but buildable and with a matte finish.

Coral #7 – a bright yellow with a matte and slightly opaque finish.

Coral #8 – a medium pink coral with a matte finish.

Coral #9 – a medium pink coral with a warm gold shimmer and a metallic finish.

The shadows are extremely pigmented product and a little goes a long way with this palette. The colours are vibrant but also buildable when using each individual colour. On top of this, the shades are so similar that they’re easily blendable to make multiple different makeup looks.

Another thing I love about this palette instantly is the size. It’s small, square and compact which means it fits in my makeup bag and it’s easy to take with me when I’m travelling. I’ve always found that ABH and Urban Decay palettes have an issue with being too big to travel with so this was a big bonus for me, which is why it went straight to my everyday products list.

After Use

Not only are the colours great and pigmented, they last literally all day. When I finish work (when I was in the office) my eyeshadow still looked just as good because the product has great staying power. The colour does fade ever so slightly for the bright colours, however the shimmers help lock in the colours to look bright all day.

I’d say I use nearly all of the colours fairly regularly, but I definitely veer towards the two shimmers the most. In the HUDA Beauty Coral Obsessions palette, the only colour I don’t use often is the yellow and that’s because it doesn’t look quite right with my pale skin tone and orange hair.

The middle row of colours are perfect for base colours, and I like using the brighter colours to create a brightness that make my eyes stand out. I do wish it had a third shimmer colour (maybe replacing the yellow) as I nearly always use those two to create a bit more depth to the look I’m going for.

Make-Up Looks

Of course I’ve taken so many photos of me wearing this palette since getting it!

Would I Re-Purchase HUDA Beauty Coral Obsessions Palette?

I defintely would pick up HUDA Beauty’s Coral Obsessions palette again! It’s got great colours and the price isn’t huge for how long the palette has lasted me so far. With being able to use it everyday as well as for evenings (when we finally get back to normal) I’ll be using this for years to come I think.

  • You have described the color palette very well, you are right, yellow is a little off beat for everyday regular make-up. I liked all the shades, and your blend looks great too. Thanks for sharing this product. Lovely photos:)
