June 2017 TBR Pile | E-book Edition

After having such successful months for reading, I decided to give myself a challenge and publicise what I want to read this month. This is because I want to push myself to continue reading, and as you guys can see what I’m reviewing you’ll be able to tell if I’m reading what I said I would. These TBR books are all currently e-books waiting for me on my Kindle.

The Suffering Tree

‘Tori Burns must unravel the Slaughter family’s oldest and most guarded secrets. But the Slaughters want to keep them buried at any cost.’

I’ve read about 2 chapters of The Suffering Tree already and I am just so intrigued! I got side tracked by assignment and my paper books that I’ve been reading, but I’ll be picking this back up again ASAP.

The Undying

‘When fate places a newborn boy in her care, Jeanie will stop at nothing to keep the infant safe and get out of Paris—even if it means facing off against the moribund and leaving Ben—and any hope of rescue—behind.’

This is a zombie kind-of book which is really out there for me. I’m not usually one to read about zombies and apocalyptic futures but this premise just made me want to read it so much.

All that Remains

‘The old world is dead, and humanity struggles to survive in the shadows of the new one. Kyle, Sara, and Tim are scavengers, hiding in the remains of human civilization from the hungry things that destroyed it.’

This dystopian book looked so interesting and as you can see from the cover, it’s just beautiful.

One of Us is Lying

‘Five students go to detention. Only four leave alive.’

I have heard so much about this book and I cant wait to read it. It’s apparently a breakfast club slash murder mystery which is just so new and I can definitely get on board with that.

The House of Mountfathom

‘Luke Mountfathom knows he is special and odd. He is told so by everyone he knows. His parents are special and odd too – they are the keepers of the House of Mountfathom.’

That book cover is just so stunning that I immediately wanted to read it. Yes I know you shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover (but everyone still does it right?). I also really want to get into because it seems to have a fantasy edge that most of my other TBR’s dont seem to have this month.

The Idea of You

‘What does it mean to be a mother in today’s hectic world? And what if it’s asking too much to want it all?’

I’m still not fully sure if I will enjoy this book as I normally dislike books about mothers/wives etc as I just cant relate. But I’m going to give it a go as I’ve heard good things about it.

Do you guys have any suggestions as to what else I should add to my TBR?

    • I've already read the first chapter and it's made me even more excited to read it after my exams! 🙂

  • That one All That Remains sounds interesting! I’ll have to look into that one!

  • The House of Mountfathom is beautiful. It reads like prose-poetry more than novel. The setting is the most intriguing I've read this year. One of Us is Lying sounds a little like The Secret History, which I loved as a teen, (must reread.)

    • I'm really excited to read The House of Mountfathom! And I'll have to look into The Secret History if I enjoy One of Us is Lying!
