Amazon debut pilots of shows, and give full seasons to the ones that members give positive feedback on. I decided to watch and review Amazon’s new pilot episodes myself. I’ve now watched The Legend of Master Legend, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Budding Prospects.
Oasis
After watching Game of Thrones and Cinderella I’ve been waiting for Richard Madden to take on a new project. Oasis was a great choice for him in a leading role. The character of Peter Leigh is a wonderful born again christian, griefing for his dead wife and convinced to go to the Oasis Colony in space. When he arrives, David Morgan, the man who begged him to join them is missing and the living conditions are questionable.
I love the intrigue of the show. Talking about religion in a sci-fi show seemed different and inevitably raised a lot of questions. Is there really a god on this planet? Is it just aliens? What’s really happening to the people? I’m already to sit and binge watch a full series to find out all the answers. So i’m thinking about purchasing the book it’s based on as well.
Packed full of characters, only touched upon slightly, who have their own backgrounds ready to be explored. Each individual seemed to have their own back story, their own regrets and their own desires of being at Oasis. There’s so much to explore in this show. Whether it’s the new planet, the dying earth or the new characters. I cant wait to see if it will be continued as there’s so many questions I want answered.
