Battle of the Eyebrows | Which Eyebrow Products Give The Most Flawless Brows?

As someone who enjoys having natural looking eyebrows but hates having my natural invisible brows I’ve tried many different products. Here’s the collection that I swap between and what I think of each of them.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade

ABH’s dip brow pomade is everywhere nowadays which is why I bought it in the first place. It works really well, only needing the smallest amount to work with at a time. I can shape and fill my brows to look natural as well which you can see in a previous post. Of all the products, this is the only one that actually matches my hair, as most brands only sell brown, black or blonde. I was really happy when I saw that they had this shade and was thrilled with my impulse buy. My only issues is that I cant just do my eyebrows and mascara with this product. As it’s so dark I need to do my foundation, eyeliner and eye shadow to make it look less contrasted.

Benefit’s Browzings

I used Benefit’s Browzings for sooo long before I got the ABH Dip Brow and it’s actually really similar. I got so used to this that I used too much when I first started using ABH. The substance is quite hard and at first I didn’t pick much product up. I really liked how it came with two brushes and some tweezers, although I only used one of the brushes. It created lovely long lasting brows I only really changed to ABH because of the colour issue that I mentioned before. I actually bought this when I got my eyebrows waxed at a Benefit counter. They used this on me afterwards and my brows looked so good I had to purchase.

Models Co More Brows

I actually got this for free in a Glossybox. It works well over a pencil or powder because it keeps your brows in place very similar to how gel does. It’s a good colour too as even though it’s brown its not too dark for me, which was great because I didn’t get to choose it.

Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil

I got Benefit’s Goof Proof Brow Pencil as a free sample as well! I was pleasantly surprised, this now being my go to when I’m just wearing mascara. Depending on how heavy handed you are with this it can be darker or lighter, I often go for lighter but when I’m in a rush accidents do sometimes happen. There’s both a pointed and a flat end as well so there’s a lot of control on how you can shape your brows.

Max Factor Eyebrow Pencil

This was my first ever product for my brows and I cant really fault it. It does exactly what I wanted it to do, but again it was the colour problem. The browns were too dark on my pale skin, and this ‘blonde’ hazel colour seemed too light? Also I felt like I had to use a lot of pressure to apply and it ran out so quickly.

Benefit Instant Brow Pencil

So I bought this when I was over in America and I wanted to try something new for my brows. This colour is slightly red but mainly brown, I chose it as I wanted my eyebrows more visible. It definitely made them more visible, the pencil needed barely any pressure to show colour. The waxy feeling kept the hairs in place as well. The only problem was that it felt too dark and heavy for me. I only use this now if I’ve got a big event and I want a sharper outline but I fill in with gel still.

  • Sometimes I like to have a more natural eyebrow and use a gel instead of pencil - but I've never tried gel. Does it create harsher lines than a pencil?

  • Love this post! It's great to know the difference between products and which ones seem to work better for you! I might try to create a similar post about my own efforts with brow products now because I have much darker hair than you.

  • There is certainly a lot to learn about this subject. I love
all of the points you made.

  • I've always use brow pencils for my own brows, but wondered what gel and mascara like eyebrow products would work. What do you prefer from your own products? I know you have said you prefer natural looking brows too.
