NYX Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipsticks | Baby Doll and Bedtime Flirt | Find The Perfect Nude Matte

When I found out Boots were going to sell NYX I was super excited. Already a fan of their lip liners which I used to buy on Amazon, for the price of £6.50 I couldn’t resist buying a couple of the NYX Lip Lingerie range. I bought Bedtime flirt which is a red toned pink colour and Baby Doll which is a nude pink. Both are similar but I wanted to test out a couple just to see if there were differences.

The formula is thick and mousse like rather than a thin liquid so only one application is needed to get a full colour. It goes on and stays wet for a few seconds and dries to a smooth matte finish. Unlike many liquid lipsticks the matte finish doesn’t feel dry, chalky or tacky after application and your lips actually feel quite smooth and soft.

I would say that if my lips were dry or cracked before application then it would look dry and cracked after due to the matte finish. Especially leading into colder weather, prepping your lips are key to keeping the smooth look. You can kind-of tell in this image below that my lips were a bit dry whereas a few days later in the other image they look better.

Application is easy as the doe foot applicator is great. You don’t get too much on the applicator as the tube has a smaller area at the top of the tube to pull excess off. I think that’s great because other lipsticks don’t have this which wastes the product.

The overall wear of these are also really good for the price. Very little transfers onto cups or bottles and very rarely does it rub off while eating. Depending on what you’re eating it’s probably better to reapply after meals to get a full colour. The swatches above actually marked my arm as water wouldn’t get it off properly. I’m definitely going to disappoint my bank balance to get a few more shades in the collection!

A quick note on the NYX Mechanical lip pencil. I didn’t realise I wasn’t picking up the normal pencil until I got it home. I found that it broke easily when in use, it didn’t give a clean line. A good point was it was a decent colour match to the lipstick and cheap!
