Kiko Cosmetics Product Reviews | Primer, Highlighter, Bronzer, & Eyeshadow | You Can Have It All

After months of walking past the KIKO Cosmetics store on my way to work, I finally decided to go in. I lusted over their lipsticks, eye shadows, nail polishes and wide range of other make up and skin care products. After looking through their affordable collection, I picked up a range of products which I thought would be good to try and that I would most likely use.

First thing I chose was the bronzer from the summer collection, which I thought would be perfect to use as a light contour on my skin. I bought two  types of eye shadows, in a similar neutral yet shimmery shade to see if either would work as an everyday colour. I had never used a colour correct primer before, and so was intrigued by KIKO’s and chose one for targeting redness. Plus, a highlighter stick because I wanted to see how easy it would be to use.

As this bronzer is matte and not too dark for me I thought it would be perfect as a contour instead. I was right, it worked really well to contour my face and nose without looking too harsh on my pale skin. The product was also easy to gently build up if I wanted a stronger contour as well.

The product has a sickly sweet smell whilst int he packaging, but this doesn’t transfer onto my face which is great as I don’t think I could have coped with it! The compact also has one of the best mirrors I’ve ever had with a makeup palette and so it holds a place in my travel bag always.

Would I purchase again?

I picked up this bronzer in the sale, and so it’s not longer available online. It is in the shade 01 Technical Honey and a similar bronzer can be found here instead. I will most likely buy the similar one to use as this one worked for how I needed it to, and it’s such a good price.

KIKO’s Radiant Touch Creamy Stick Highlighter really intrigued me as I’d never tried a stick highlighter before. I was pleasantly surprised with how it worked, although I did find it harder to blend than both cream and powder formulas. I used the shade 100 Gold which is not too pink, as I find a lot of highlighters can be.

It applies easily, although I find it works better with liquid foundations. It doesn’t feel too harsh on the skin, although sometimes I find that it can make my skin feel a bit greasy when I use daily.

Would I purchase again?

As a personal preference, I probably won’t be picking this up again any time soon. This is more that I prefer powder highlighters than anything wrong with the product itself though!

I’ve heard so many good things about colour correcting primers that when I saw this I picked it up immediately. Unfortunately, KIKO just don’t have a good product here as it didn’t seem to work at all as a primer or a colour corrector. The ‘green’ just blended into the skin without lessening redness as I was told in store. The primer part is also questionable as it seemed to make my skin feel greasy and my makeup seemed to rub of faster than before! Even though it was so cheap, I felt like this was a waste of money.

Would I purchase again?

Ever since I’ve bought this, it’s not been available online which I’m not surprised about. I think KIKO must have realised it wasn’t that great and pulled it from their range. I won’t be repurchasing.

KIKO’s Water Eye Shadow in shade 201 Rosy Taupe is the perfect addition to my every day look. It can be used both wet and dry despite the name, although of course with water gives a lot more pigment faster. I use it mainly as an all over to my lid as it works great as a base product which I can build shadows into whilst keeping the creamy look when blending.

The rosy colour for me works wonders, and the consistency of the colour throughout the day is great too. I love to use this when I’m having a long day as it also works when I go from day to night.

Would I purchase again?

For sure, I’m also considering buying some of the other colours too!Definitely a must buy for any new KIKO customer.

KIKO’s Metallic Shine Eye Shadow which was in shade 01 Superb Beige was bought for versatility. For day time looks I’m always using the pale nude colour fastest in palettes, so I’ve been looking for a nice single base shade. Unfortunately, this shadow isn’t overly pigmented but it does work well as a base when using other shadows too. It also works well to add a sheer shimmer over the top of other colours too. I will often use this on nights out to add some shimmer if I’ve used matte colours.

Would I purchase again?

KIKO has now changed their formula to a longer lasting creamy formula, with very similar colours instead of this one. I would be happy to pick these up to try instead after using their other shadows.

Overall I was quite happy with Kiko even with some dud products, but I will probably do a bit more research on products before buying them next time!

Anyone else had a good or bad experience with Kiko Cosmetics?
